Updating our YouTube Channel

Updating our YouTube channel is tedious but I think it’s time to do it.

Why Am I Updating Our YouTube Channel Now?

It’s not like I’m not busy. I’ve got a magazine to put out, plus all of the billion other things that come up as a small business owner. There are several reasons.

For one thing, we need to stop relying on so much on Instagram if we’re going to become a viable business.

For another, I’m trying to build on the success of our livestream of the 2019 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) American Open/Military Nationals this past weekend.

Because livestreams are great for view counts but we at most are doing one per month. If we want to serve our viewers, we need to give you something to watch between livestreams.  Also, if someone watches a livestream and gets fired up to compete, I want to give them the tools they need to get started, especially if they’re training at home like Christopher Young or referee and athlete, Tricia King.

So I’ve begun the process of updating our YouTube channel and it’s just as boring as you’d think it is.  I’ve also had to make choices because some videos had great view counts but the end screens take you to links that are no longer valid or have the wrong web address.

Over time, I’m going to correct all of those. Be patient with me. I’m TRYING to update older videos without YouTube sending out notifications to watch videos you’ve already watched. If I can’t then I’ll just leave them as is and focus on making sure that the new content is right.

I’m also taking time each day to become more proficient in learning what content best plays on YouTube and what we should save for our IGTV channel. It’s not an exact science but I think it’s a key to long term success and ultimately giving you content that you’re excited to watch, read and share with others.
